If you make a complaint about your employer to the FLSA or other employment government agency, there is a slim chance they may find out you’ve told on them. You’re going to need retaliation protection.
Employees are protected regardless of whether the complaint is made orally or in writing. Complaints made to the Wage and Hour Division are protected, and most courts have ruled that internal complaints to an employer are also protected.
Don’t be afraid to lose your job because you’ve reported your boss, you have federal protection for “snitch crimes” by employers. It’s possible you may need to find a federal employment lawyer.
